I would think that it really breaks apart the race into manageable chunks.

How did today go?The Boring Runnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13073380265420100975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4692377326046966823.post-68872242348485616032010-10-03T15:18:18.171-07:002010-10-03T15:18:18.171-07:00good luck in the race. So far so good, I probably shouldn't mess with it ;)

I got caught up on your last post, and I'm with you, I do a lot of my runs, long and short and marathon pace. I just don't understand how you can ask your body and mind to all of a sudden run at mp on race day if you haven't practiced it? And, I always sprint the last .3 or .2 of every run - so I know what it feels like to spring on heavy legs. Again, so far, soo good.
You're going to do awesome!!Katie A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05532916063060905892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4692377326046966823.post-15290753171418220782010-10-01T17:14:59.471-07:002010-10-01T17:14:59.471-07:00Brooksie is definitely a tough course. In actuality, the first 5 are downhill, the next 5 are uphill and the final 3 are a net downhill, but there are a couple of good rollers in there.

About 2-3 miles of the course is on dirt/gravel which is nice on the legs.

I did the race last year and am doing it again this year.
